Please explain the UK 180 day rule for 5 year spousal visa

I am a British citizen I married my husband from Ghana. He received his 5 year spousal visa in February 2023 and came to UK in May 2023.
My question is when does the 180 day rule of absence within a 12 month period begin from?

Did it start from February meaning he can not be out of the country for more than 180 days from February 2023 to February 2024 or does the 12 months start from May 2023 when he entered the UK.

There is NO such absence rule for spouse visa holders.

The rule applies to a completely different set of
visa categories.

The 180 absence rules applies to the work visa routes such as skilled worker visa, ancestry visas etc. It does not apply to a Spouse visa.

Different visas have different immigration rules. Best not to confuse yourself by listening to other people on completely different visas.
