Defined and undefined CoS debate

Post by no_hope2 » Thu Dec 07, 2023 8:36 pm

Hello,

My employer just got their license on the second this month. They also has got one CoS since they asked for it when applying for the certificate. I tried to explain to them that I need a defined CoS since I'm going to apply from outside the UK. They are not convinced that they need to allocate and assign a defined CoS, saying that they made it clear to the home office on their license letter that they need to hire me and I am abroad. Is there any chance that they are correct by any mean? Could it be possible that they got a defined CoS from just getting the license?
Anyone can help please.

How else are you suppose to apply for a visa if they do not assign a Defined CoS to you to enable you to apply for a visa??

Unless you are misunderstanding, no they are not correct. The single CoS they have got is to assign to someone for them to be able to apply for a visa.
Could it be possible that they got a defined CoS from just getting the license?
Yes it is possible if that is what they asked for.

Thank you CR001 for your reply. According to your reply:
Yes it is possible if that is what they asked for.
I understood that maybe my employer got a defined CoS just by getting his license and now I'm eligible to apply for a visa?

You can apply for a visa once the sponsor has assigned a CoS to you and you have the CoS and details.

Thank you, but that's not what I meant. My question is: is it possible for a company applying for the first time for a license ask for a Defined CoS as well and get it automatically when getting the license?
