Child Citizenship application

Hi All,

When my son was born non of us was a british citizen in 2017. His mum obtained citizenship fairly recently.
Can we apply for citizenship for our child too?

He was born in 2017, currently 6 years old, has been living in UK since and attending to school here.
2019 he received his settled status after his mum and now I was advised we can proceed to ask for citizenship as his mum is a british citizen now.

Can someone confirm or if it's incorrect and we have to wait longer for him what rules apply to us please?
Mum was settled in 2019 under EU scheme and my son got Settled status too at the same time. His mum become a british citizen Jan 2024.

Appreciate for any help or advise.

If he was born in the UK, you could have applied for the childs citizenship as soon as either parent received settled status.
