PBS Dependant Partner visa extension fees - URGENT HELP NEEDED

Hi all,
My current PBS dependant visa is getting expired on th 18th Jan, we have started our application process for PBS Dependant Partner visa extension. We have done the IHS payment for 3 years since we can only apply for 3 years. However, the application fees after paying the IHS fees is displayed as £1500, whereas in the gov.uk website the fees provided as follows,

"up to 3 years - £827 per person
more than 3 years - £1,500 per person"

Could you please help understand why we are being asked to pay £1500 for the application fees.

You must have selected 'more than 3 years' then in the application form. What did you put in the form for CoS details and length?

The IHS is usually £624 per year

We selected CoS duration as more than 3 years since my partner had CoS valid from 2015 to 2020 post which he got his ILR. Should this be 3 years instead since this is a extension?

Now that IHS is paid for 3 years (£1872 - £624 per year), how can we update the CoS duration? Do we need to withdraw application, request for IHS refund and submit a new application?

We are very tight on the budget and not sure how long home office will take for refund if we withdraw? sorry for many questions, we are very concerned and your help is much appreciated!

Refunds can take a few weeks/couple of months.

You are getting the 5 year visa fee because you put 5 years for the CoS.

Your choice if you choose to pay and continue and then wait for or request a refund or if you start again with a new application.

Thanks CR001 again for responding, if we continue with the application and overpay the fees, how can we request a refund for the overpaid amount? is that even a possibility?
