business trips or short secondments outside UK

Post by helpmehelpall » Mon Jan 22, 2024 9:01 am

Hi Mates,

I am on Tier-2 Skilled Worker Visa 5 Years route seeking your kind guidance and advise on the following;

as a business development person my employer wants me to travel frequently outside UK and sometimes the stay outside UK goes beyond 1 month, overall i am extensively traveling outside UK for various business development activities.

the question is that when i shall be applying for my ILR how such long absences shall be counted ?? it seems that out of 12 months i am away from UK for more than 180 days not consecutively but with breaks

looking forward for an expert advise

Thanks

It is a total of 180 days combined absences in any 12 month rolling period.

Plan accordingly.

You meant 180 days each 12 months ?

1 Jan 2020 - 31 Dec 2020 (93 days total)
1 Jan 2021 - 31 Dec 2021 (163 days total)
1 Jan 2022 - 31 Dec 2022 (38 days total)
1 Jan 2023 - 31 Dec 2023 (189 days total)

What would be the equation please

Any 12 month period. It is not a calendar year ie january to december.

It could be any 12 months. It could be november to october or july to june or march to feb

The key is not have more than 180 days absence in any 12 month period.

Thanks for help

That means for ILR the year shall not be counted where we have absence of more than 180 days.

So we have to extend for another year to apply for ILR.

Can Skilled Worker Visa be extended beyond 5 years :x

With same employer or one needs to change the employer or what could be the solution to such criticalities :?:
