Spousal Visa extension - Help needed

Post by AKL » Wed Jan 24, 2024 4:05 pm

Hi,

I was hoping to get some advise for a friend.

He is a British citizen, his wife was on a 5 years route spousal visa (she has now completed 2 visas of 2.5years) they were unaware that they needed to complete the life in the UK test before the spousal visa ended so as a result have had to apply for a visa extension. She has now been granted the 2.5 years spousal visa extension in addition to the other 5 years she has completed.

My question is, if she passes the life in the UK test now can they apply for indefinite leave to remain even though she is on the visa extension or does she have to wait for the visa extension to end before making an application for IFL?

Your advise is much appreciated.
