Completing MN1 form on behalf of child

Post by Milena11 » Sun Feb 04, 2024 2:28 pm

Hi
I'm completing the MN1 form on behalf of my son who will be 18 in 2 weeks' time. I am not applying for naturalisation along with him because I got my citizenship a few years ago and his dad has settled status but is not applying for citizenship so this application is being made solely for my son.

I got stuck on the Declaration section where it asks to confirm whether you are the applicant or a representative of the applicant. I am not sure what to tick - I know it may be a daft question, but by a 'representative' do they mean someone like an agent or adviser, or anyone who is not the person applying for naturalisation?

This is the exact question on the form:
"I confirm that:
-I am the applicant
-I am a representative of the applicant and have been authorised to act on their behalf and have discussed and confirmed the contents of this application with them"

Please can someone advise what to tick here?
Thanks

Select "I am the applicant" - the child
Representative is normally a solicitor doing the application.
This is just my opinion as a member of this forum and does not constitute immigration advice.

That's great, thank you for a quick reply!

Also, do you know how long do I have to upload the documents once I've submitted the online application?
Do they give you a specific timescale to do that?

You need to upload the documents before the biometric appointment

You must tick "You (as in your son) are the applicant" (you are not employing a solicitor, therefore you are the applicant)
