PBS Visa | Same Employer - Query on accepting Promotion

Dears,
I am currently on PBS visa and due to ILR by mid year.
Now am getting opportunity to be promoted in the same company around March end. So wondering if this will impact my visa status as I remember CoS has Job title & Job type(code) as per current role. Also please advise how to go ahead in this situation without affecting my VISA status followed by ILR shortly.

If your SOC and job changes, you need to apply for a new Skilled Worker visa with a CoS indicating the new SOC and job as far as I understand.

So my current SOC is ''2136-Programmers and software development professionals'', is it mandatory to change this SOC for promotion(on the current role) within the same company also? Just wondering it is just change in ''Job title'' alone as the ''Job description'' is going to be more or less same!? Ofcourse, there will be change in salary though..

It depends on the nature of the new role and/or company policies. If your promotion is from "software engineer" to "senior software engineer" normally no need to change anything. A salary increase is not an issue either. According to what you're describing I guess this is the case here.

If it's something that cannot be included in 2136 but in another code then you need to apply for a new visa.

Ask your employer, they should know what applies to you.
