Naturalisation referee query

Hi! Question about referees. Can my both referees be married couple? They have different surnames. One of them is Fellow of the Royal Institute of Surveyors but he is retired right now. Is it okay? Thank you

No. You cannot have referees who are related to each other or to you, either through blood or marriage.

Yes, as far as they retired from a qualified profession (if they are your professional referee) or are British (if it is the second referee).
