Query Regarding Part 3 of the Consent Form - Skilled Worker Dependent Visa

Hi everyone,

I’m facing a problem while filling in my wife’s visa application form (Skilled Worker Dependent). My wife was divorced before coming to the UK (in Pakistan) but when we got married here in UK, we never disclosed this and mentioned her marital status as Single in our Marriage Certificate.

Now the problem is, we have been mentioning her previous name in all her previous applications and mentioned the reason for previous name as previously married / in civil partnership.

Now I'm filling her Skilled Worker Dependent application and there are 2 sections that are bothering me:
1: In addition to the names already provided, are you now or have you ever been known by another name? Yes - This section concludes here after taking my wife's previous name, and somehow relevant to the one that I've previously been entering in previous applications.

2: Have you previously been in a marriage or civil partnership? My answer is Yes, and then they ask the details for my previous husband and if I can provide an evidence for the previous marriage being ended.

Once I go to to the end of the application, I'm asked to submit the Marriage Certificate & Proof of previous marriage being ended. My problem here is, since we didn't disclose the previous marriage while giving the notice for marriage and hence Marital Status is written Single for my wife where in fact, the divorce certificate from previous marriage would reveal this fact.

Can someone please guide me if this is actually a problem or I'm just overthinking. If this is the problem what should be the course of action for me to take; I believe is to just write the name she had previously and where it asks if she had been married previously say NO, with the hope that they may not look into these tiny details from the applications in the past.

I would highly appreciate for everyone's valuable advice.

Seems like she was not free to marry then, when you got married. You complicated this yourself.

If this is the problem what should be the course of action for me to take; I believe is to just write the name she had previously and where it asks if she had been married previously say NO, with the hope that they may not look into these tiny details from the applications in the past.

So you'll be keep going with lies? It's your choice, but have you considered the implications of it?

Thanks for your response.

She was free to marry. It's just we didn't disclose back then (as we didn't want her previous marital status mentioned in our marriage certificate) when we put forward the application to get married. We married in 2019 and she got divorced in 2017.

Hi everyone,

I'm applying for my wife and children's dependent visa (Skilled Worker Dependent) where I've come up with the Consent Form at the end. I understand she does need to sign Part I which is pretty self explanatory and we don't need to sign Part-2 as we haven't attached any document on Joint names.

Regarding Part 3, (Part 3: Consent for the Home office to verify information from third party sponsor: It says name and address of financial sponsor. Who needs to sign this one or do I not sign it)

in my COS letter there's a question (Tick to certify maintenance for migrant (and dependants, if applicable): Y), so I was just wondering whether I need to get this part 3 signed by anyone? Just to re-iterate my wife and 2 children will be my dependent and I have already been granted Skilled Worker Visa.

Thanks for the promptness, CR001. Apologies as I'm not frequent user of this platform, will do as suggested in the future.

Regarding Part 2, just to confirm, we're not submitting any document under joint names. I have submitted few documents under my name to prove we've been living together for the past 2 years. Would I still need to sign Part 2. Would be great is you could clarify this to me please.

Another thing is, I've just submitted the application already and realised I have missed one travel history from 2017. I've attached the cover letter explaining I've unintentionally omitted the information and mentioned the specifics of that travel history. Is this the best course of action in this case or should I withdraw the application and submit fresh applications. Sorry taking too much of your time, but it would help alleviate the stress I have.

You are still not out of the woods - she / you made a false declaration about her marital status, not once but twice now. Three times if you include the marriage certificate. If at any point this becomes known to the Home Office there will be consequences. At any point through to citizenship this can comeback and haunt you.
