Visa Refusal- due to invalid COS code! Help

Hi I was wondering if someone to answer a or help point in the right direction.

My visa alone with my dependents was refused on the basis that my cos code was not registered or recognised with the home office.

The agency in the uk whom I’m using provided me the certificate with this number. They had then removed my cos code from the home office systems because they wanted to reissue my work placement. Ie from wales to London, therefor giving me a new cos code. Unfortunately this was not communicated before I submitted all using the original (now removed) cos code.

I am still waiting for a new cos code. Apparently the person dealing with this is in hospital, hence the delay in communication.

Feeling apprehensive about the legitimacy of the agency! While I wait and hope they are actually getting me a new cos code.

What can I do?

When you say agency, what do you mean exactly? Who will actually be your emplpyer or are ypu expectes to find your own contracts and job?

There was no need to withdraw a COS to change the place of work. That is an immediate red flag.
If your role is a care worker then even with a new COS you will not be able to bring dependents now.
There are a number of cases of false COS being used in last minute carer applications prior to 11th March. This was to beat the deadline for the no dependents rule.

In answer to how long does it take for a DCOS to be issued… days, weeks or even months. It all depends on the Sponsor history, employment sector and whether the role is regarded as high risk.

Thank you both for your reply. And I wished I found this forum before handing over money. The visa was for use as a care/health worker.

We were dealing with an agent who seems to have created fake email addresses pretending to be the carehome.

The main thing now is to see how we can appeal to remove the 10 year ban on my children’s passports.
I don’t even know if that is possible. We are in srilanka. It seems hopeless
