I like to ask since I am a victim of domestic abuse and my ILR(DV) is still processing will I need to pay the naturalisation or citizenship when my ILR is been granted as I am destitute and relying on Universal Credit.? I will be 5 yrs in in the UK as for 2025 and I am still married with my husband and he is filing for divorce I believe.

Yes, you have to pay, there is no fee waiver for citizenship as it is a voluntary application. It is not mandatory to apply for citizenship and you have the right to live and work in the UK with your ILR.

All applications are assessed individually.

If you are divorced, you have to wait 12 full months on ILR before you can apply and need 5 years residence immediately before date of application.

5 years residence proof by submitting your passport(s), ILR for 12 months plus the two tests. That is it.
