NTL- BRP Renewal

Hi

Is there anyone else who has applied for the BRP Renewal whose expiry date is 31.12.2024. ??

I rushed and applied for the BRP renewal ( brp expires on 31.12.24) and biometrics were done last month as i planned to go back home end of this year ( late realization; this was needless).

I now have to travel next month and spoke with the home office today. They advised that renewal was not needed and due to the submission of the application the process might take up to 6 months. I was also told i could cancel if i want and have to fill out some forms online (which I'm planning to do so) But,

-If I cancel the application would it affect my status later on ??? (Visa status: No time limit)
-How long is the cancellation process? and can i travel immediately after the cancellation?

Please help. Any advice would be appreciated.

No.

BRP renewal is NOT an immigration application. You can travel whether you cancel or not.
