Applying for ILR which one to choose SET (M) or SET (O)

Post by Vennelaravi30 » Wed Mar 13, 2024 2:22 pm

Hi,

I will be elgible or ILR next month, I need some guidance which application I should go with online Set M or Set O.

My details are below

I arrived in UK on 15th May 2019 on a Entry clearence Visa ( Dependent of a Settled person in UK My husand was having ILR when I made the application My husband got ILR on a long residency10 year route).

I extended my visa in Feb 2022 ( on my BRP it says Spouse/Partner Leave to Remain) and the expiry date is 01/09/2024)

I beleive I will completing 5 years on 15th May 2024.

Am I right in thinking I will be eligible to apply for ILR 28 days before which is 18/04/2024 ?

Also is it online SET (M) application I should be using when applying for ILR ( My husband still on ILR).

Could someone please clarify the above.

Thanks

Form Set M is the only form you can use. Set O does NOT apply tp you.

Yes online form only.

Yes you can apply 28 days before the 5th anniversary of the date you entered the uk.

Can I use UK Naaric Documents with my SET M application

Post by Vennelaravi30 » Thu Apr 18, 2024 5:29 pm

Hi All,

I am on FLR (M) Spouse dependent visa ( 5 Year route ). I will be eligible to apply for ILR next week as I have almost completed my 5 year continous stay in UK. I am preparing to gather documents for SET M application.

I need some guidance on the English Language requirment documents. I have previously used UK Naaric documents with my previous applications to fulfill English Language requirements and I thought I can still use the same UK naaric documents which I have used with my SET M application.

However, I have been hearing that I should be using ECCTIS certificate instead of UK naaric I am a bit confused here. Could someone guide me on this if I can still use UK naaric documents to fulfil English Language requirment for my ILR application ?.

If you have used it successfully before, then it can be reused. Lots of people have successfully used their NARIC documents to show meeting English language requirement in the ECCTIS era without hassles.
After Brexit NARIC became know as ECCTIS, change of name.

ILR SET M (ENGLISH LANGUAGE QUESTION)

Post by Vennelaravi30 » Fri May 31, 2024 8:17 pm

Hi,

Apologies, If this question was previous answered.

I am a dependent of a settled person in UK ( My spouse is having ILR). I am on spouse dependent visa 5 year route.

I have completed my 5 years continous residence in UK as a dependent of a settled person.

I have started filling the SET M application form for ILR. I am stuck on the below question related to English language.

Your Previous Visa

Do you have a previous visa, entry clearence or leave to remain where you had to prove your knowledge of English

It has Yes or No options

I have selected as No

Then it asks the below question

Do you have an English language or literature qualification from a UK school?

I have selected No

Then it asks the below question

Do you have a degree that was taught in English?

I have selected Yes

Country your degree was taught in

I have Selected India

Does your degree meet the English language requirement for this visa?

Yes

What will you use to prove your degree taught in English?

it has 2 options

Degree certificate or Official Transcript or Letter

I have selected as Degree Certificate

To be honest I dont know If I had to prove my knowledge of english on my previous FLR M application I have submitted my UK NAARIC documents with my previous FLR M visa application and I am planning to use the same UK naaric documents to prove my English language for SET M application

I have an MBA degree from India taught in English and I have 2 UK naaric documents to prove the level including comparability.

Can some one please guide me if I am selecting the correct options as mentioned above related to English Language ?.

Thanks

Hi, wondering if you got your ILR approved no problem with the above answers. I am in a similar situation where if I say yes to the first question " Do you have a previous visa, entry clearence or leave to remain where you had to prove your knowledge of English", I dont get options for selecting degree certificate and further questions around it. If I say "no", I get all the questions just like you have.

Would be great if you could provide me your experience here. Thanks.
