Renew ILR BRP Card for my Parents

Post by Jill1404 » Fri May 24, 2024 12:19 pm

Hi All,

My parents' ILR BRP cards are expiring in August 2024. How can I renew the BRP? I heard there will be no BRP from now on this year.

Please help me understand the questions below.
Can they both apply at the same time as the Husband's wife on the same application form or do they need to apply separately?
Please advise me on which link I need to follow.
How much does it cost?
May I know how long the application process takes to complete?

I look forward to hearing from you soon.

Thank you,

BRPs will soon become useless, wait to get an eVisa status for them instead

Information on eVisas as all BPRs will be phased out from 1st Jan 2025

Their ILR does not have an end date - it's the card.
And yes - if you will apply for ILR BRP now, you'll get a card valid until 31 Dec 2024.
From that point on, it's an online system.

No. eVisa system will be fully rolled out by this summer. Also, BRP replacement can take up to 6 months.
The eVisa system is already being offered to a limited number of immigrants. Many have already been given eVisa digital status.

As you have also been advised, ILR is a permanent status and has no expiry date. The expiry date of the BRP is just the BRP card being expired, the same way that an expired bank card does not mean you lost your bank account !
