The marriage certificate not an issue, it is fine and should be accepted.crazyuk wrote: ↑Sat Jul 13, 2024 11:42 amHi All,
Well I think me and my Husband are about ready to submit his Spouse Visa Application, it's been a very stressful time, but we have attempted to do it ourselves without paying outrageous fees to a solicitor, but I just have a few questions, and I know this board is a great source of help. So I have answered all the questions in the application and mainly have questions about documentation.
Marriage Certificate - We were married in the British Embassy in the Philippines as we are a same sex couple and this was the only option available, as the Philippines does not recognise same sex marriage. We were married under English Law within the embassy and the main certificate stays in the embassy register and we got official copies of the certificate with the Embassy seal etc, so I can't imagine this will be an issue.
Bank Statements, this is a bone of contention and different opinions, some websites say they need stamping by the bank on every page with a bank stamp. Now this is an issue in itself, I tried online banking chat, they can send me transaction statement, which can be used for official purposes, mortgage application, proof of address, proof of income and for visa applications they said, great. They come though and they are no different to my statements that I get in the post. Tried chat, who said if I want they stamping to go into a branch. Great, spent 40 minutes going to my closest branch, no we don't do that. Asked if they would do a letter to say the statements are genuine, why on earth do you need that, the statements are on headed paper, with all the account details, and your details, no we won't do that. So now I am stuck, do bank statements have to be stamped on every page by the bank, or will they accept my statements without?
Accommodation, we will be living with my parents as I help care for them and there is plenty of room, I know some say you don't need an accommodation report, but I got one anyway. So I have a letter from the local authority confirming there are no health and safety issues, that the property is owned by my parents, a list of who lives at the property at the moment and that the property will not be overcrowded by the addition of another person and that there is sufficient room.
A letter from my parents to say they are happy for my Husband to live with us for the duration of his visa and that he will not be expected to pay lodge or rent and that they fully support the application.
An official copy of the property title from the land registry showing my parents own the house outright with no charges or mortgage and a copy of the council tax bill.
A letter from my employer on letter headed paper, confirming my job, salary, wage, permeant contract, how long I have worked there and that my payslips and P60 are genuine.
6 months pay slips and P60
Various photos of use on my trips to the Philippines, pictures of our wedding and wedding reception, screen copies of daily video calls, screen shots of text messages. Pictures of me with him and his family on my visits, etc.
A copy of my passport with stamps from my visits to the Philippines,
He has taken his A1 English Test and Has his TB certificate
So I think that is about it, I would of course welcome any further input or suggestions if I need to add anything else and just a thank you in advance for taking the time to read this.
Check that you have answered all previous questions correctly.crazyuk wrote: ↑Mon Jul 15, 2024 4:09 pmThanks for the reply AmazonianX, one further question before I submit the application, under the application section under sponsor details is asks
Will they be travelling with you to the UK? No
(I've answered no because I already live here in the UK),
However then in section three Financial section under employed details, it asks if I am employed or self employed so I have answered employed and put all my employers details in but the very next questions asks
Does spouse have a confirmed offer of employment in the UK starting within 3 months of their return? No
(Why is it asking this, as I have already said I am not travelling with my partner, I am already in employed and have been for several years it just seems an odd question and I don't want to make an innocent mistake.)
