yescontorted_svy wrote: ↑Tue Jul 30, 2024 7:32 amI think it has been way too long for you to be able to challenge it now but as I explained a simple caution all this time ago is unlikely to affect your application if it is your only incident with the law.
thankscontorted_svy wrote: ↑Tue Jul 30, 2024 7:57 amThat is unfortunate and I am sorry. You got past that and it won't affect your chances for naturalisation, hopefully this helps in dealing with this painful memory.
but i obviously say on my application that i have a simple caution?contorted_svy wrote: ↑Tue Jul 30, 2024 7:57 amThat is unfortunate and I am sorry. You got past that and it won't affect your chances for naturalisation, hopefully this helps in dealing with this painful memory.
if they reject my application because of the caution is it worth paying £1600 again or jsut living with residency forever instead of citizenship?contorted_svy wrote: ↑Tue Jul 30, 2024 8:36 amYes I would disclose and comment on how since then your life has changed and you haven't reoffended.
Be of the hope that it will not be rejected.saguy1984 wrote: ↑Tue Jul 30, 2024 8:56 amif they reject my application because of the caution is it worth paying £1600 again or jsut living with residency forever instead of citizenship?contorted_svy wrote: ↑Tue Jul 30, 2024 8:36 amYes I would disclose and comment on how since then your life has changed and you haven't reoffended.
it was common assault...i had a backpack and flung it on my shoulder and it knocked sunglasses off a womans face at a train station...i did not appeal and jsut accepted it in 2009...alterhase58 wrote: ↑Tue Jul 30, 2024 9:14 amIn the end it's your choice - from your postings here it would appear that your offence wasn't a serious one, you are explaining everything upfront, from what we have seen here applicants with more and serious issues than yourself have been approved.
Difficult to see how you could be refused.
It's been 15 years. I wouldn't lose sleep over that. Explain that in your application.saguy1984 wrote: ↑Tue Jul 30, 2024 9:20 amit was common assault...i had a backpack and flung it on my shoulder and it knocked sunglasses off a womans face at a train station...i did not appeal and jsut accepted it in 2009...alterhase58 wrote: ↑Tue Jul 30, 2024 9:14 amIn the end it's your choice - from your postings here it would appear that your offence wasn't a serious one, you are explaining everything upfront, from what we have seen here applicants with more and serious issues than yourself have been approved.

i guess all i can do is try...contorted_svy wrote: ↑Tue Jul 30, 2024 9:42 amI would say it happened so long ago and you haven't reoffended since that your chances of approval are pretty high - you didn't receive a custodial sentence which is more likely to be a deal breaker. It is your call what do here, we have seen some cases of applicants with criminal records more serious than yours who succeeded.
Sounds like an accident.
i just accepted the caution in 2009 and didnt even ask to look at the cctv at waterloo train station
so there is no hope for me really?vinny wrote: ↑Tue Jul 30, 2024 2:19 pmCAN I CHALLENGE A CAUTION AFTERWARDS?
Moreover, any cctv evidence is unlikely to exist now.
Application for expungement
is 2009 too long ago to ask to get it deleted?
