Global Talent Dependent visa

I am asking this question on behalf of my friend:
I am seeking advice regarding my visa situation. My husband currently holds a Global Talent visa, and in March 2025, his visa will convert to Indefinite Leave to Remain (ILR). Both my daughter and I are on Global Talent dependent visas, which are set to expire at the end of December this year.
I would like to inquire whether it is possible for us to apply for new 3-year Global Talent dependent visas before my husband is granted ILR in March 2025. Alternatively, what would be the best course of action for us during the three-month gap between January and March 2025?

Their BRPs likely expire in December (like all BRP cards) and not their visas. What duration and expirey date does the approval letter/email state?

If they apply for an extension before the main applicant applies for ILR, rhey will only get a visa expiring the same date as rhe main applicant.

Also, a visa doesn't "convert" to ILR. It is an application that has to be made and paid for.

Our visa will expire sooner than the main applicant to whom we are dependent. There is a gap of 2-3 months. and there is no 3-month options to apply for this 3 months gap. Just wanted to know if I apply for a 3 year visa what will happen to the application fee in case they do not grant a 3 year visa and instead as you mentioned grant a visa with the main applicants expiry date.
We were meaning to postpone the visa application to the very last minute with the hope that by the time they get back with the visa application result, the main applicant would apply for ILR but not sure if this will work. Thank you so much

If they apply for a dependent extension, it will expire on the same date as the main GTV visa holders visa. There is no other option.

They pay the fee the system says and don't get a refund. The application fee is set.

It is unlikely to take 3 months for a dependent visa.

Dependents can only get a 3 year visa extension, as dictated and stated in the immigration rules, once the main applicant has either applied for or been granted ILR.
