Hello folks, I am in the middle of applying for naturalisation. My application is fairly straightforward as I am single, from the US & have had ILR since 2019 and been in the UK continuously on Tier 2 visas since 2014. I would like to submit my naturalisation application by this Friday, November 15th, as I am due to travel to the US on the 16th, and I will be out of the UK till Jan 1st, 2025 due to a combination of work & personal travel. I don't want this 2 month period to count towards my qualifying period hence my desire to apply ahead of time. I understand from the guidance booklet that I'm free to travel once I submit my application, but it says that I need to make a biometrics appointment within 45 days, and that my application may be invalidated if I don't do that. The guidance also says they "may" use my previously submitted biometrics (that I had for ILR), but of course I have no way of knowing if they will make me do it again or not. Has anyone experienced any flexibility with booking biometrics beyond 45 days? I really don't need longer than 60 days, but don't want to risk my application.
Thank you!
