IHS Fee / Dependant Visa

Hello,

I have got PBS Skilled Worker visa (start date: 28th July 2023, end date: 27th July 2026) with an employer last year.

My dependants are on my previous employer PBS Skilled Worker Visa (with end date: 27th Dec 2024).

While applying for dependant visa on UK Visa portal, it seems that IHS charges (2070 GBP for each dependant) are been calculated based on my current visa end date. We all 3 will be completing 10 years in UK by May'2025.

My both dependants need visa for max 1 year as we are eligible to apply for ILR. I dont see any option where we can apply for 1 year dependant visa.

Do we need to pay IHS (2070 GBP) for full 2 years for each dependant? Is there any way to apply for 1 year visa while creating the application on UK Visa Portal or can we request for 1 year visa during the visa application review in the visa center and request for IHS refund for 1 year?

The fees payable are based on your CoS length, not the length you have left on your visa.

You cannot apply for only a 1 year visa. Their visa will be with the same expiry date as your visa.

You cannot choose the visa duration to apply for. It is based on your visa length and expiry date.
