Income requirements for ILR

Post by tj_130289 » Wed Feb 12, 2025 4:26 pm

Hi all,

First post here.

I have a question which I can’t find an answer to I’m hoping someone here may know.

My wife is on her FLR visa and we have just submitted her ILR SET (M) application today on super priority service.

We applied using the savings route, however my question is relating to income.

I work abroad a month away and a month home rotation. My income from a foreign employer is enough to satisfy the income requirement, but can it be used?

Does the income from employment need to be UK earned? Officially I have no uk income.

I ended up not using it on this application as we luckily had the saving required but still wondered if I could have just submitted the employment details and got accepted?

Anyone got any idea?

Thanks

It is only counted when you are an overseas sponsor, returning to the UK

I should have mentioned I’m a British citizen. Not sure if that makes a difference.

No it doesn't.

To use income, it needs to be UK earnings.

If you are relying on savings, why would you need to state any earnings? You only need to meet one, either sufficient savings OR UK income for a minimum of 6 months with payslips and corresponding bank statements.

I haven’t stated any income details in the application.

I was just asking the question as I had the decision to make before application. Either use savings or earnings.

At that time I hadn’t found this forum or I would have asked then.

I makes no difference really I was just curious and thought I might find out on here.

Thanks

If you have declare savings in the form, then you must submit the evidence for this. You can't now switch to show income if you have not declare any UK income in the form.
