Hi,
I'm planning on applying for my British Citizenship and would like to discuss the timing for the application. Apologies if this is date heavy as i'm getting confused as to when I need to submit my application.
I guess to start from the top.
I applied for my Biometric for the T2 skilled worker visa at the VFS Visa application center in another country at around June 6, 2019 and my visa vignette stamped on my passport showed valid from June 17,2019 to July 17,2019. I arrived in the UK on June 28,2019 at Heathrow. My Brp shows validity from July 1,2019 to July 14,2024
Basically i applied on May 20,2024 with priority application, but only received the actual approval letter on June 17,2024, additionally i was also able to confirm via a complaint email i openned up, that the Home office acknowledges that a decision was made on May 28,2024, but due to an IT glitch, I only received the confirmation email on June 17,2024.
So... I guess to boil it all down.
I arrived in the UK on June 28,2019
I applied for my ILR and got my approval decision May 28,2024(confirmed by home office) but received the actual email by June 17,2024
If i follow the guidance. It tells me that i should have at least 5 years + 1 year after receiving ILR.
So i received my ILR on May 28,2024 or June 17,2024. Should i use the ILR dates as the spring board to apply for my british citizenship? If yes, can i rely on the home office case worker that says May28 is already on the sytem or the email i received from Home office?
Or do i need to use the June 28,2019 (Date i arrived in the uk) and just add 6 years to it so I would be applying for my British Citizenship on June 29,2025?
Thanks to anybody who can clarify this.
