Child Born in India

Post by karthick69 » Wed Mar 05, 2025 12:03 pm

Hi

I am and my Mrs. both got the Status "Indefinite Leave to remain". A couple of weeks ago, My Mrs. delivered a Baby boy in India. I am bit confused what will be process and What visa required to bring him to UK, or whether he is eligible for getting a British Citizenship.

If you anyone come across this situation please advise me the process.

Thanks

He is NOT eligible for British citizenship if born abroad tonaprents who only hold ilr. He would have only been automatically British if born in the uk to parents who have ilr.

You will need to get an Indian passport and apply for a child settlement visa and pay all the relevant fees etc.

Just to add that you will be applying for an Indefinite Leave to Enter (ILE)
