Child Dependent Visa

Post by AnithaKarthick » Mon Mar 17, 2025 11:47 am

Morning Moderator,
Hope you're doing well.

I am seeking your guidance on how to extend my child's visa with the intention of obtaining ILR.

Details are as follows:
I have been on a Skilled Worker visa since 18 July 2022 and need to extend it in May. My child, born outside the UK, is currently on a Skilled Worker dependent visa through my husband's work visa since 18 July 2022, which also needs an extension. Recently, my husband received his Indefinite Leave to Remain (ILR).
1) Do I have to extend my child's visa as my husband's Skilled worker dependent?
1a) if so, the application form is asking to enter the skilled worker details including expiry date, should we enter his skilled work UAN (the one he used to obtain ILR)?
2) If I extend my child's visa as my dependent, changing it from my husband's Skilled Worker dependent to my Skilled Worker dependent, will it affect his eligibility for ILR when he completes his 5-year route?

Thanks in advance,
Anitha

Extend as your dependent. Child will qualify for ilr when you do.
