Professional standing referee inquiry

Post by Nemesis311 » Tue Apr 01, 2025 9:44 am

Good morning all

Thanks as always for this amazing community as it has been amazingly informative and has helped going through my visa journey up to this point

I have a very basic question but since I'm in the process of preparing the referees for my citizenship application, according to the HM a teacher could be my professional standing referee. Based on that, could you please help me with the questions below:

-If my referee is a *lecturer* (that is how it's described in his university profile as he is not referred as a teacher) in physiotherapy based on the Department of Health Professions. Qualified MSK physiotherapist, with professional membership of the Health and Care Professions Council [HCPC] and Chartered Society of Physiotherapy [CSP]. Would that be ok for a professional referee?
-Can the same professional referee be used for myself and my wife if we submit the application together at the same time?
-I understand that the professional referee doesn't necessarilly need to be British, so it can be any nationality, is that correct?
-For the British referee for our 2nd referee, it doesn't need to have a professional standing as far as I understand?

Thanks a lot!
Best regards
