TLSConnect Documents Scanning Procedure

Post by sanyari77 » Wed May 21, 2025 5:35 pm

Hi all,
I have an appointment for Biometric and documents scanning for naturaliastion at TLSContact.
a. How do I arrange my documnets to prove 5 year of residence. Other than passport, BRC and 2 referees, I have following documents which includes:
30 months of bank statements (150-200 pages)
30 letters from NHS
25 credit card statements/letters
30 letters from HMRC Self Assessments/Child benefits/
20 letters of Council tax/Voter registration
35 Electricity/Water Bills
25 Mobile Bills (50 pages)
30 Letters from DVLA/TFL/Log books/Insurance certificates
4 Tenanc Agreements (35 pages)
30 Miscellaneous letters (Pension/RAC/SIA/Postoffice verification etc

b. Do I have to scan all above documents in the TLSConact centre? How do I do this scanning there? It takes many hours to scan these papers.

c. Is there any better suggestion on chosing the documents to prove 5 years of residency?

Any advise will be highly appreciated.
Thank you.

Why are you planning to send all those documents?
As an ILR holder it's normally just a scan of your passport...

These are the only items you need for a naturalisation application - (passport pages/stamps covering the qualifying period).

I hope you haven't printed all those documents out yet. :|

Yes all above docuements are ready for scanning. Some of them were printed at home but most of them are original documents.

A per naturalisaion requirements, I have to provide:
"To apply for British citizenship, you'll need to provide a valid passport or travel document, proof of your residence status in the UK (like a BRP card, settled status, or ILR), and evidence of your continuous residence for the required period. You'll also need to demonstrate your English language proficiency and pass the Life in the UK test"

A per 'evidence of your continuous residence for the required period', I have to provide these docuements.

For naturalisation as ILR holder you only need your passport (with entry stamps), BRP, certificates and referees.
This is sufficient for residency. Most of the documents are not not accepted for naturalisation anyway as it's not an immigration application (such as statements or utility bills).

Thank you for your reply.
I have read many articles on the docuemtns required for naturalisation. Everyone has suggesed to provide utility bills, bank statements, letters from governments offices etc to prove that I have been living in the UK for last 5 years.
Whereas, you are suggesting me to provide the passport, brp and referees details. I am confused.

Stop listening to "everyone" and reading random articles online.

Minimal documents needed. Follow instructions what the official guide says, passports with stamps only.

The evidence of continuous residence in the UK is the stamped pages of your passport for the required period, as advised.

I'm not sure where you did read that that pile of documents are required for naturalisation, I'm quite sure that it was not from any official (UK government) source.
