Validity of supporting documents

Post by heisemadhura » Fri May 30, 2025 7:42 pm

Hello,

I am hoping you can guide me on this.

I applied for UK naturalisation today - 30 May 2025 but my biometric appointment is on 26 Jun 2025. Do I need to refresh the supporting documents just before the biometric appointment date?
Example a reference letter from my employer has a date of 22 May 2025. This will be more than 1 month old by the time I submit my biometrics. Will I need an updated letter?
Similarly my bank statements will be more than 1 month old by the time of the biometric appointment date. Will I need to get the latest documents?

Thanks for your help.

No. The date of application is the date you submit and pay online.
Example a reference letter from my employer has a date of 22 May 2025. This will be more than 1 month old by the time I submit my biometrics. Will I need an updated letter?
Why are you submitting this???
Similarly my bank statements will be more than 1 month old by the time of the biometric appointment date. Will I need to get the latest documents?
Why are you submitting this?? Bank statements are not needed and also are not accepted.

For proof of residence, you ONLY need all your passport stamped pages. NOTHING else.

Also, how do you qualify to apply for British citizenship? Are you married to a British Citizen or held ILR for 12 months?

Thanks. I qualify as I have held ILR for more than 12 months.

Am submitting the employer letter and bank statements as additional documents.
Would submitting these have a negative implication?

Regards,

You do NOT need them. Do not submit documents you THINK are needed. You only need to submit what is asked for, nothing more than that. Bank statements do not prove residency and are not accepted even IF you needed more stuff.

You are not making an immigration application where you need lots of documents.
