Travel constraints during application

In the case that naturalization applications are made from Address X, and at the stage of passport application (post naturalization) tenancy expires and one moves to Address B (within UK) - what is an advisable course of action
1./ Give Address B in the application (risk is that automated database checks etc may not show up to date information) with rental contracts
2./ Give Address A and since there is a Royal Mail redirect on Address A -> it will come to Address B. Unsure if royal mail redirects work for passport deliveries too or Home office would not send the passport if a redirect was active.
3./ Give Address A and collect from post office upon failed delivery - is that an option at all?

(working out plan Bs though in my case it seems the application is stuck - will take too long and we will finally leave the country before it gets sorted..just some bad luck)

Don't worry about the address you will give when you apply for your passport for now. Give your current address for naturalisation and leave it at that. When it is time to apply for a passport you will cross this bridge.

Please note you have to have a UK address to apply for your first British passport if you naturalised under Section 6(1). You must apply in the country.

We still await the decision after over 3 months now - and would be shifting to another address/council soon. Does that impede our ability to undertake the citizenship ceremony at the council of the old address?

No. But you will have to attend the ceremony there.

After naturalization while submitting application for first British passport -
1./ Can one submit verified passport pages from post office in lieu of actual passport due to travel commitments
2./ We are thinking of moving into a house share -> and don't exactly have any bills to our name but the owner can sign a lease - Is that sufficient?
Do we need to send address proofs along with the passport application?

1. You are required to submit all uncancelled original passports.

2. You do NOT need proof of address.

The first British passport is issued very quick, usually in a matter of days. Check the pinned post on British passport application timelines for reference.

Since you need to submit your current passport(s), it's obvious that you cannot travel whilst waiting for your first British passport so you need to plan accordingly.

Hi, we applied in March and looks like the applications are struck and we are almost decided on leaving country post naturalization
1./ I assume since there is no residency requirement post application - even if we went on long holiday in July and came back in Sep or so (6 months) and had arental contract ongoing -> should technically work?
2./ Kid's passport applications - do they technically need to be in country post naturalization (as they may be abroad) and i could apply and collect passports on their behalf.
3./ Until when is the "intention to settle" requirement needed, application for naturalization, application for first passport or ?
4./ The obvious risk is that we don't get it processed in 6 months and then probably can't appeal -> i guess a simple email asking to cancel application then should work?

That should be fine. There isn't a future intentions requirement for registration of children as British citizens.

It is till the date of application. But there have been a couple of cases reported on these forums where HMPO has referred applications for overseas first adult British passports back to the Home Office to have a second look at the applicant's future intentions requirement. It would be very odd if the intention changed so soon after the application.

You have been asked in the application to declare that you don't have immediate plans to leave for 6 months or more. Having a rental contract is irrelevant. Don't plan absences of 6 months or more until you receive your approval, then apply for the first British passport within the UK. You can leave straight away after that.
