7 years child route chances

Post by varshashastri » Sun Jul 13, 2025 8:41 pm

Hi all, my son is a British citizen, I'm a British citizen and my husband and daughter are Indian citizens. We have all lived in the UK continuously for 7 years.. husband is currently employed on skilled worker visa but if he loses his job can we apply based on 7 years child route for my daughter and husband? Daughter was born outside the UK.
I have no savings in cash but 150000 in stocks and property. So spouse Visa is our out of question.
What are the chances of success for my daughter

No, you cannot. 7 year child route is only applicable to certain visa routes, skilled worker dependent visa is not one of them.

You can apply for a spouse visa based on your husbands salary if he meets the requirments. Oryour salary if you work and meet the requirmenta or ypur combined income. Switching will rest the 5 year ilr clock though.

Why do you believe you must have savings??

Can you please let me know where it says she can not switch from skilled worker dependent to 7 year child route?

Your daughter will follow the same visa path as your husband.

The 7 year rule is for a child that holds a qualifying visa based on private life. She doesn't hold this visa. The 7 year rule is not automatic.

How old is your daughter?

If your husband loses his job, why can he not find another sponsor to continue on the skilled worker visa route?

Why can he can he not or has he not switched to a spouse visa with your daughter?
