British Born children with Indian passport

Please advice. Thank you. I am on skilled worker visa, will apply for ILR today or tomorrow. I have two children born in the UK, got Indian passport for travel. All our visas are expiring on the 16th August. Me and my wife are eligible for ILR.
Now, my children's visa will expire. I know that they can apply for British citizenship using the MN1 form. Will they become overstayer if I am not able to apply before their visa expires?

They become overstayer yes. However this does NOT affect their entitlement ro register as British or have any negative effect on the applications.

They won't be entitled to free nhs once overstayers, plan accordingly with private medical i durance.

Your children are not born British, but they can apply to become British through the MN1 form. once you and wife obtain ILR your children will be eligible for registration under 1(3). no need to worry about their visa or ILR but best to secure private healthcare insurance should they need the NHS.

Thank you both for replying and clarifying. Very useful information provided regarding the health insurance. Now, if I apply for their British citizenship, how much time does it take for it to come and I hope they get NHS whilst waiting for their decision.

It may take 6 months for MN1 applications, sometimes longer. They won't get NHS care for free without a visa. Advise you get private coverage.

Thank you. Like we will be protected by sec 3c. Is there no provision like that for MN1 applicants?
Any recommendations for private healthcare?

If I apply for their citizenship before their visa expires, I.e 16th August 2025, do I still require private health insurance? I don’t have any issues with it, just want to know my options.

Yes - a nationality application in progress without a valid visa doesn't give any immigration rights until British citizenship is registered for the child (i.e. the certificate is issued).
