Set M motoring offence

Post by bathanza » Tue Feb 11, 2025 10:01 pm

Hello

Spouse unfortunately has 3 points on licence due to speeding last year.

Will this have an impact on his ILR and indeed naturalisation and citizenship?

He's had mixed advice on this. Our FLR M renewal we did declare motoring points for motorbike so we will of course declare this.

Any advice would be great.

Set M Application

Post by bathanza » Thu Aug 28, 2025 11:07 pm

Thank you to all administrators and members who help migrants and their loved ones through the UKVI system. Things have certainly changed over 10 years.

Reading the Set M rules I can see one can apply after 60 months of continuous residence.

My husbands 5 year route was approved 17th Sept 2020. Which, according to the online calculations the earliest we can apply is 17th Aug 2025.

1) Is this correct?

2) I was going by visa expiration which is 26th Sept 2025, my income meets the 18.5k excessively, and accounted for March 25 to Aug 25 payslips it we submitted the application say Monday. If I were to apply now, would I use Feb 25 to July 25 payslips? Don't know why it doesn't make sense if I've been paid already?

3) All other requirements met, Life in the UK, B1, a few annoying questions to answer but all ready to go pending a bank statement which will be with us by Monday.

Support welcomed.

1. All ILR applications benefit from a 28-day concession. This means they become eligible for ILR within 28 days of completing the 60 month ILR qualifying period and the ILR can be granted from that point onwards. You can even apply before this date as long as the date of decision is on or after the earliest date of eligibility

2. Visa expiry is irrelevant. They need to see payslips covering the six months as per the date of online submission. You can use March 25 to Aug 25 payslips

3. They also need to show cohabitation evidence: All you need to know about cohabitation evidence

Thank you!

For Aug 2025 Payslip which is in hand I will need to wait for my bank statement so will proceed as originally planned for submission next week.

I have comprehensive list of cohabitation documents prepared. Thank you. Will update this thread with progress. Should be simple but anxiety SKY HIGH

Question: in previous applications I had declared in a cover letter explaining expenses out of my bank account, such as mortgage outgoings for a rental and where we live. We have bought another property where we WILL eventually move to and I have explained the outgoing for this. Do I need to provide mortgage letter/info for this home we will move to too? (perhaps its OTT but wanted to ask)

Update!

I am a director of a few ltd companies. I avoid giving details i resigned so relied on payslips perm employment

Spouse had a really bad cut on finger no issues.

Biometrics today at 10.50am. Approval email came through at 16:15pm. A long anxious wait but the immigration journey is officially over.

I thank ALL admins on this board. I'll ensure I keep an eye out to help others.

9 years later. We did it.
