Dependent visa extension

Post by arslan1 » Thu Sep 18, 2025 12:28 pm

Hi,

I was skilled worker visa issues in october 2022, switched to global talent on Jan 2024 andd then got my ILR in September 2025.

My wife was on my skilled worker dependent visa which is expiring on 23 October 2025. I want to apply for her extension. My question is

1 - Do I have to apply for her extension as skilled worker dependent or global telnt dependent as when I changed my skilled worker visa to global talent, I didn't change her to global talent dependent as there was no need for that.

2 - How long can I apply for her extension, 2.5 years or 3 years. If I apply for 2.5 years it will be beneficial for me as she will complete her 5 years based on this 2.5 years extension.

2 - Is there any financial proof that I have to show for her extnesion or is it not required as I am right now self employed and doing consultancy and a part time job.

Thanks

Do NOT tag your questions onto topics that are unrelated to your question.

You have not stated when your spouse got rhey deoednent visa.

A gtv dependent visa extension is for 3 years, as stated in rhe immigration rules. You cannot choose the length of visa.
