Query on Dependent visa extension- I am British citizen now

I have few queries regarding my wife’s visa extension as I could not understand the next steps fully. When she came to UK, she was on PBS dependent visa. Then I got my ILR and applied for her PBS dependent visa extension rather spouse visa and I submitted PBS cos number and all other required documents. Her current visa is getting expired soon.

I am a British citizen now and I need to extend here visa as her total time is not 5 years so can’t apply for ILR. Can I apply for PBS dependent visa or need to apply family/spouse visa as I am British citizen now? Will applying for spouse visa reset her time to ILR?

You apply for a Skilled Worker dependent hisa. It will be a 3 year visa extension.

An extension is made within the uk.

If you apply abroad it is an entry clearance visa.

On 5th December 2025. Do I need to submit my British passport now or ILR BRP copy when submitting the application? I assume passport as my ILR is kind of invalid. Isn’t it? I am assuming I need to provide CoS number in application too

You need to provide what the form asks. You will need your last COS details to put in the form.

Thank you!! I am in last part of the application and I need help with following questions. Please confirm my understanding or correct it

1) Does (my name) already have their skilled worker visa? As I had it in past so I am assuming it is yes. Please confirm

2) Do you know (my name) visa end date? As I am citizen now so I am planning to say No

3) Do you have (my name) UAN? As I don’t have it so I am planning to say No
4) Do you have application refrence number? I do not have the application reference number but it provides option to provide BRP. Should I choose and provide my ILR BRP or just say I don’t have it?

Can I apply for extension outside UK in this case?

As CR001 has advised above, an extension can be applied for only within the UK.

Not only that, once the application has been made, the applicant should not leave the UK until they get informed that their leave extension has been granted.

If they leave the UK while the application is in progress, the application is automatically considered withdrawn and they lose the fees.

With regards to your last question, be aware that we are not aware of the details of the forms themselves and hence you may have to wait for others with more recent knowledge of the forms to respond to you.
