I am told that because I have uploaded many documents(for a safer side), mine will take long as they have to verify everything. Is this true?

They dont have to very everything. They now have to go through a huge amount of totally unnecessary documents and it can cause delays.

The risk is they miss the key minimal required documents because you have somehow panicked, received incorrect and dubious advice and thought that sending lots of totally unnecessary documents will be helpful, which it is not.

You were repeatedly told to follow official ukvi guidance which is very clear on the limited number of documents needed and have chosen to ignore the advice. We have all applied and received citizenship based on official guidance and advice from the forum.

I have clearly organised my document under 1.proof of application 2. finances ( here I have uploaded my bank statements) 3. Evidence of residence in the UK 4. life event/ official documents.

Should this ease the assessment? I am panicking if my application will be rejected / failed

Your application won't fail because of too many documents. All that matters is if you respect the statutory requirements. What is done is done, it may slow down the process but it won't affect your eligibility.

Can I please have advice what happens if forgot to add applicant name on the referee declaration form? The application and documents have been submitted.

The form had applicant photo glued also the referee name, signatures and date. Do I need to inform ukvi about this error ?

I forgot to add applicant name in the referee form citizenship. i have added my name now, sent it to home office and informed my referees as well.

Rest of all information is the same. I missed the 'Applicant name' is this going to be an issue?

I have sent the updated form to home office with a detailed cover letter. Will this become an issue in the process? I submitted my biometric on 17Oct 2025

We use this wording regularly .... because simple mistakes aren't a reason for refusal but they can always ask.

- how will i know my updated document , i sent is linked to the original application? will i get an email confirmation to say this?

We can't know what they will ask (if they will ask for anything!) As I said above, IF it is needed, they will contact you and tell you how to proceed. monitor your inbox and spam folders regularly. I understand that it is an anxiety inducing situation, however your application won't be rejected because one document is missing, they contact applicants if this happens.

Hi,

Document is not missing. I have uploaded the document already in the first place with my photo, referee information, signature. I did not notice that there was a section in the middle of the first page where it said 'Name of the Applicant' . I missed to write my name in that. That's it. In the new 'updated' form, I did include my name - rest of all the information is there- nothings changed. its still the same.

What I said still applies. You sent a correction to UKVI, if something is not right or missing you will be contacted.

to home office be linked to the original application on Nov 3rd @1.54 am.

Can I chase via email to see if this has been uploaded to my original application or its too early?

Reality is that for most things you email you won't get a proper acknowledgement.

You have been told many times.

In case they haven't received it, they will contact you. No news is good news in this case. Give them time to process the application.

I recently realized that for the question – Do you have a previous visa, entry clearance or leave to remain where you had to prove your knowledge of English?

I thought this question is asking to have I taken any test? So, I answered ‘No’.

I had previous applications :
• My first application was for a Tier 2 Dependent Visa, which I submitted in India. This was my initial entry clearance to the UK.
• My second application was for Indefinite Leave to Remain (ILR), which I submitted in the UK. I was granted ILR on 30 May 2012, and my biometrics were also taken on the same date. ( I have given ‘UK Naric’ proof -> Official transcript)

The choice ‘No’ is made by mistake but I have given all the proof clearly and also in the following section where it asks “Have you provided the evidence of your English Language ability in previous application” – I have answered “Yes” and have uploaded the proof.

I sincerely apologize for selecting the wrong choice.

But in the following section I have mentioned ‘Yes’ this proof was given in my previous application


Please do let me know how can I correct this?

That should be OK, because you uploaded the proof of English language. Applications don't get outright rejected because of an honest mistake in filling a box.

thanks. Much appreciated. So, one final question- Will the case worker receive all the clarification email I have sent? Will they review these before making a decision? Will i get any email confirmation from Caseworker to say they have received my amended form and clarification email on selecting the wrong option?

There are 2 errors I spotted in my application within this 2 weeks - one is the one mentioned here and the other one is the 'name of the applicant' not filled in the referee form. I have emailed home office within 3 weeks of application submission. Hopefully Case worker will get it

We have answered this many times. You have contacted them, and they should review correspondence from applicants. This specific mistake does not impact your statutory requirements as you have submitted your proof of English language anyway. IF the caseworker doesn't see your communication or they can't understand something about your application, they will get in touch. Success rate for naturalisation applications is very high, over 93%. You do need to try to focus on other matters while you wait, or it will become impossibly stressful.
