Also i am struggling to get my refund from the home office.

I have cancelled my application on 13 June, i waited 4 weeks, and they said me call after 2 weeks as it could take 6 weeks. I called after 6 week and they have ledge a ticket to chase them and said me wait for 10 days before I chase them again. I called them again (Yesterday), and they chased again and give me another ticket and asked me to wait for another 10 days before I call them again.

I am not sure how many more months I need to wait more as this 10 days chaser and every time new ticket makes me nervous whether I get my money or not. Note: When i asked what the limit of chaser they said no limit. Anywhere else I can complain

from experience how long it takes to get the refund? I have passed 8 weeks already, and still no luck.

Hi There,

I have following queries for Naturalisation online application, i shall be grateful if you could answer them.

1) I have got my ILR application on 23 May 2024 with 10 years route, so I can submit / pay my Naturalisation online application on 23 May 2025 or do i need to wait 1 or 2 days additional? you can submit on the 23 May
2) For Referee 1 and Referee 2, i am asking 1 NHS Doctor friend and 1 IT Software friend, hope that should be fine as both of them is professional? Only if the IT software person is a member of a chartered body. NHS doctors are not on the professionals list,
3) As my Doctor friend lives far away from me, so getting Referee form signed and scanned and then i can upload my photo would do? Or do i need original physical copy of Referee form during appointment or any point of time during the application (Biometric or Citizen Ceremony)? You can do it digitally.
4) For 5 years proof:
a) i can use my Passport Stamp? Note: I didn't visit my county in 2020 and 2021 so this entry won't be there however after that i have visited 4 times and 1 entry was not stamped This is ok
b) I can submit the P60 and Payslip for 5 years as both of them got address and government approved? Not needed
c) Do i need to submit any other proof like Utility bill (I only have since 2023) Not needed

5) To prove my English: Providing my degree certificate (Have one doc where it say medium was English) would suffice or i need to provide UK NARIC letter which i got when i converted from established staff visa category (Issued in May 2010) General category (July 2020). Note: I came to know UKNARIC is no more in function and it replaced by someone so will do not be still valid? Provide the degree certificate and the UK NARIC letter.

6) As i am in UK for more than 10 years but in "Details of your trips outside the UK" i only need to provide details for last 5 years as they asks? Only 5 years

7) "Have you made any previous UK immigration applications in the UK or abroad?" - In this section i am giving all the applications i have made for UK Visa since 2010 till 2024, for last 3 i only remember have "Enter your reference number if known" but not for rest. Note: 2010, 2011, 2013,2015, 2017, 2019 (all these were established staff category), 2020, 2023 (These are General and Skilled worker category) and 2024 ILR. so in total 9 times i had visa application submitted so i am giving 9 entries in this section. Enter reference numbers and rough time period as you remember them, it won't affect your statutory requirements,

Last but not least can i use same photo for naturalisation and British passport ? or both has been difference as naturalisation can take god time and British passport photo should be less than 1 month old? They are not supposed to be the same however you can cross that bridge when you get there, naturalisation applications take some time to be processed.

Sorry to reply to an old topic - but I thought it would be best to clarify this for anyone searching on these forums, re: the acceptable professions list.

This is the current Form AN guidance for those applying with ILR:

This does mention 2 important things about what a professional person has to be (in context of the initial question here):

• a direct link to professional persons, which it links to the accepted occupations for countersignatories for a passport

• a member of a professional body such as an accountant or a solicitor (but not one who is representing you with this application).

It gives similar examples to the 2023 list that was posted here and in the sticky in this sub-forum, that includes:

• chemist

• dentist

• nurse

But at the bottom does mention doctor, not your doctor looking after your health, but a doctor who happens to know you well enough for 3 years to be a referee. All doctors in the UK have to be a member of a professional body to be able to practice as a medical/surgical/psychiatric doctor.

Could I request one of the mods to update the stickied thread here if all this makes sense? The link there goes to the 2023 guidance rather than the 2025 one.

Hi Experts,

I am submitting my naturalisation form again (earlier application I have to cancel because due to technical glitch it has given my India Appointment despite i being in UK. So before attending the appointment etc I have cancelled my application and got full refund in 4 months).

Query is do i need to mention the cancelled the application details in the current application under "Have you made any previous UK immigration applications in the UK or abroad?" query?

This time i successfully manage to submit my application and got the TLS (UK) one, also i got the free appointment for 9th Jan 2026.

Now I need to upload the documents in TLS, and I know this would have asked here millions times, however if you could answer below that would be awesome.

Document Checklist:
1) Colour copies of all pages of the passport or travel document for Mr XXXXXXXXXXXXXX from India. This includes blank pages. The copies must be in page order, and clear enough so all text can be
read easily.

Answer: I will upload my Indian Passport with all pages as mentioned in the checklist under the TLS drop down "Life event / Official Document"

2) Proof of living in the UK for Mr XXXXXX for 5 years if applying in your own right or 3
years if applying as the spouse of a British Citizen.

Query: Unfortunately, I don't have continuous 5 years proof of address, as I have switched my bank in 2023 and moved to my house in 2022, so I will be submitting my a) My council tax for 2 years (2025 and 2026) under the TLS drop down Evidence of residence in the UK / Proof of activity in the UK" b) Utility Bill (Sept 2023 till sept 2025) under the TLS drop down Evidence of residence in the UK / Proof of activity in the UK" c) P60 Form from 2020 to 2025 under the TLS drop down "Finance"

Hope this should be suffice to prove I lived in the UK for 5 years? Or do i need to give my 5 years pay slips too or any other document to prove 5 years i lived here.

Thank you very much for your swift response.

As you said for 5 years proof of living in UK passport would be suffice? But I don't have all entry and exit stamp? On my recent visit to India i did explicitly asked the immigration office to stamp but he did as he said all is online.

Passports are scanned on entering the UK - so it is online.
You don't need to explain - presumably you have listed all absence on the application form.
