ILR query

Post by bvramesh29 » Sun Jan 18, 2026 3:32 pm

Hello Friends,

Can someone please answer to the below query?
As per the new ILR rules (earned settlement), assuming if it comes to play.
My Case:
My spouse Tier 2 skilled worker and completing 5 years by March 2027.
But will not be eligile to apply for ILR as salary threshold is not met (Around 51K salary for past 3 years)
But as a dependent I will meet this salary threshold and I will complete 5 years by then.
My question is will I be able to apply for ILR? with out main applicant as my spouse will not be eligigle yet.
Thanks.

I have split your post to your own topic.

There is NO financial requirement for skilled worker dependents.

A Skilled Worker dependent CANNOT apply for ilr based on 5 years residence if the main skilled worker visa holder is not also applying or does not already have ilr. The rules do not allow this.

There is no such a route as Tier 2 skilled worker. Tier 2 does not exist at all.
Also, there has been no new changes to ILR rules such as 'earned settlement'. What you have heard are merely a set of proposals that are yet to be discussed and none have been implemented as rules at all.
