thanks for the link
i found the information in this section, i think it says permanent residents can go in whenever they want, as long as their passports are still valid. my passport was expiring in december and that was a concern!
5) NATIONAL PASSPORT WITH A RESIDENCE PERMIT FOR THE UK
All foreign nationals not exempt from obtaining a visa under paragraphs 1 to 4 do not require a visa to travel to Switzerland if they hold a UK residence permit or a UK temporary residence permit.
The permit must be endorsed in the passport and both the passport and permit must be valid beyond the date of departure from Switzerland.
Description of residence permits for the UK:
Label: Certificate of entitlement to the right of abode
Stamp or label with the statement: indefinite period / given indefinite
Stamp with the statement: There is at present no time limit…
Description of temporary residence permits for the UK:
Stamps with the statement:
leave to enter.., given leave to enter.., leave to remain…,
the holder has leave to enter/remain…
