AIT Hearing! Have I messed up?

Post by gollywood » Sat May 23, 2009 4:52 pm

Due to be attending an AIT hearing (as sponsor for a relative who was denied a visitor visa)

Some of the paperwork I was going to submit arrived late - so I contacted the AIT who said it would be OK to drop of the file 2-3 days before the hearing.

Was going to do it on Monday 25th May. Just realised they are closed on Monday (Bank Holiday) for 2 days - and the hearing is on Wed 25th May - so the earliest they can accept the file off me is 9am on the morning of the appeal!!!

Call Centre MIGHT be open on Tuesday

1. Is that too short notice?
2. What are the likely options we have?

I did observe when sitting in on a few hearings last year that the judge accepted 'new' evidence from sponsors/representatives during the hearings, or asked them if they had any new evidence to support their appeal.

Ive immaculately prepared for this - but think I might have blown it at the death!!!

Help is most appreciated

Fax them through straight away to AIT, with an explanaotory note that the originals will be dropped of on Tuesday morning.

It should give the Adjudicator enough time to look at them, but would it give enough time for the HO rep too?. I dont know, they can be a funny lot sometimes.

The actual centre is still closed on Tuesday, so Wed is the 1st opportunity to drop the files off

As for the docs - its a few files, impossible to fax

Will turn up to the hearing centre at 9am - with the files. And hope they can slot me in anytime during the day after checking the files out.
