Hi, I'm an Irish national excercising my Treaty Rights in the UK. My wife is South American, and we are planning on moving back to Ireland and using the Surinder Singh ruling (i.e. apply for a Stamp 4Eufam for her on arrival in the State).
If we have a child in the UK, and we subsequently apply for Child Benefit when we arrive in Ireland, will this have a negative impact on her chances of getting naturalisation later on down the line?
Also, would the child be entitled to British citizenship? I believe that since I am an Irish national, I have "settled" status in the UK, therefore the child would be entitled to British citizenship by birth (or am I wrong)?
