can my son apply for citizenship from back home ?

Post by makepop1 » Sat Jun 04, 2011 4:10 pm

In 2 years i will be applying for 10 years ILR and my son born here and he has been with me for 3 years and went back home to settle and study.

I want to know, once I get my ILR can my son become british citizen from back home applying through british embassy, or he has to be here to register as british citizen ?

I believe that it's possible.

i went through the story of the other guy from your link, but he says british embassy back home denied for ILR for his son and said to go to uk and apply from there, and you have put a question on him
''why didnt you register as british citizen''

According to your point can i assume that i can register as a biritsh citizen for my son and apply for british passport back home ?

or

according to that guy should i have to bring my son to uk on 2 years dependent visa and apply ILr in uk ? that will be impossible as he will be spoiling his studies wasting his time travelling and waiting until he gets visa.

I think that child is entitled to register from anywhere he's located, including from outside the UK.
