Acceptable reason to make an application PRIORITY CASE?

Post by Godott » Tue Jun 28, 2011 6:57 pm

I have read on the ukba website that there may be some exemptions regarding speeding up the processing time of the eea2 application, and they call it Priority case. It is mentioned that it has to be some compassionate or job offer as the reason to make your application be decided earlier then planned.

Does compassionate include some tragic events that you must attend outside of the UK or it can be any important event for you?

Perosnally, little baby daughter of my husbband's brother is going to be baptised , so I was invited too but not sure if I will maanage to get the RC before that time.. My application time is to be nearly 3 months now since went into process. Can it be stated as the reason for making my application priority or it does not mean absolutely anything to the Caseworkers?

Thanks[/b]

Compassionate can mean a lot of different things. A close relative or friend is very sick or dying springs to the front of my mind. But it is also an intentionally general term.

I would wait until the case passes the three month magic trigger value and then write them a clear and passionate letter requesting your passport back and explaining that you need it to go to an important family religious event... Point out politely that it has been just over 3 months since you submitted your application and that you would prefer to get the RC now so that you do not have to needlessly burden their colleagues at the embassy with the additional work of having to process a new EEA FP to reenter the country.

Worst case they do not give you the RC right away. And then you have to apply for an EEA FP for reentry into the UK. Be sure to take copies of your spouses passport, your marriage certificate and proof the EU person is working.

Thank you for the advise.
May I ask you one more question.. If I am about to write and conceive a nice and concised letter explaining my needs , what email or address shoulud I write to H O?
As I have an representative, I will ask him for the advise but to be honest with you so far most of the things regarding my EEa2 and Certificate of Approval I did for myself instead of him, and did a work for my solicitor but anyway in the case I expect that solicitor will tell me to hang on a bit more and to remain in here and waiti until its decided on my RC, I would write a letter myself then.
Is there any an specific email or address that shall I write to H O regarding this issue?
