I believe the mother needs to naturalise first, then an application on behalf of the daughter can be made by the naturalised mother. Presumably the daughter is under 18.Crozier wrote:we also have her daughter from Hong Kong living with us now for the past year. My question is, will my wife be able to apply for naturalisation for her daughter at the same time as for herself?
As long as you're support them and your wife is not in receipt of social welfare (child benefit excepted), she'll be grand.Crozier wrote:Also, I see one of the conditions for naturalisation is that you are self-supporting. My wife has not been able to find a job since we got married, is this going to affect her application for naturalisation?

I'm not certain. It's controversial. Some people say it matters, some people say it doesn't. It's not defined in law either way. Bit of a grey area. But hey, this is Ireland.Crozier wrote:My wife has actually been receiving job seeker allowance (a very minimal amount as its means tested against my own wages). Is this likely to be a big problem?
In case of spouse to Irish citizen do you have to complete the full Form8 or just the "APPLICATION BASED ON MARRIAGE TO AN IRISH CITIZEN" Part.Ben wrote:Welcome.Crozier wrote:Thank for the reply Ben.

I have checked the form, are we not supposed to fill in the form from the beginning? Is it possible to just go straight to section 14- "application based on marriage to an Irish citizen"?PIKKA wrote: In case of spouse to Irish citizen do you have to complete the full Form8 or just the "APPLICATION BASED ON MARRIAGE TO AN IRISH CITIZEN" Part.
In case of full application they have asked about social payments in Question 10.3.
The answer of this question can only be given by those who applied based on marriage to Irish Citizen, is there anyone available to answer this question please?Crozier wrote:I have checked the form, are we not supposed to fill in the form from the beginning?
