Yes.As I understand it for OCI they put a sticker in your British passport as well as issuing a separate OCI passbook.
You do not have to. If you don't then, whenever you travel to India you will have to carry your old expired UK passport (with the life long visa stamp), the new valid UK passport and OCI booklet. Also they have now simplified the process to transfer visa to your new UK passport and made it much cheaper (£18 as of now) if you do wish to do so.So when your British passports expires do you the have to through the whole process again to get a sticker in it?
