Post by frozenswirl » Mon Feb 20, 2012 2:51 pm

Hi All,

I am stuck in Paris because I forgot my UK residence permit back in London!!!! I have to catch my train tonight but will I be able to go back to UK with just a photocopy of my residence permit?

Any ideas?

Do you have your passport with you?

If you have a UK-residence-permit this might be possible, since the UK officer in charge can check the validity in their systems.

Additional advantage: To my knowledge the check should already happen on the French side, so you shouldn´t be denied boarding.

I guess it´s worth a shot - better than not going back home. What do you have to loose?

How did it go?

If not, are you married to an EU citizen?

Are you married to an EU citizen and were you travelling with them at the time?

It seems he is not.
I guess he was referring to his biometric UK residence card (an actual card as opposed to the EEA RC which is a vignette) which is now issued under the UK immigration rules.
