Hello,
I am new on this board, I hiope I am posting this message on the right section. I am a Japanese citizen who was granted Indefinite Leave to Remain in the UK in the August of 2005. I have been living in the UK since Spring of 2003. I have recently applied for a new Japanese passport and received it yesterday. Now here is my question: since my ILR is now in my old passport, should I apply for NTL to be issued the biometric resident permit that UKAB is now issuing to the ILR holders or should I not bother with it and just carry both my old and new passports?
Will I have any issues/problems with UKAB or applying for jobs etc if I decide not to bother with applying for NTL and get a biometric residence permit? What will be the best course of action here for long term benefts or passible risks? I will very much appreciate if someone could give me an advice on this issue... I will very much appreciate it.
