You obviously haven't heard of the South African embassy in London....currently taking 4 months or more to process passport applications. That's why you'll always see South Africans in the UK taking very good care of their passports! I think you should get a passport for your baby. What's the rush - can't you want 3 months? And why should it take so long? I've never heard of passports taking that long to process when you're a national. I supppose they'd want to to prove the baby's a national of your country, but even then...
