Tier 2 General Dependant Maintenance

I am a Tier 2 General visa holder residing in the UK for over 12 months. My spouse will be making a Tier 2 General Dependant application for himself from outside the UK. I know he will need to provide evidence of £600 maintenance. Can this be in the form money held in a bank account in my sole name? Or, will my spouse need to have the money in his sole name or in a joint account with me?

A clarification in this regard will be much appreciated!
