financial requirements and money in account. pls advice.

Post by Rayking » Sat Jan 25, 2014 1:12 am

If I meet the financial requirements, is it a must I have money in my account too if I'm sponsoring my girl for fiancée visa?can someone be refused if there isn't money in the account presented,I mean the account balance?
If I must have fund in my account, how much is a reasonable amount? Personally I've been thinking it doesn't matter but I really don't wanna shoot myself in the foot.
Please your contributions are valued.

Hello Vinny,
I understand I need to meet the financial requirement of 18600 for a single applicant right?but it's not as if they expect me to have this money or even half of it in my bank account, do they?
What I'm curious about is,do I need to have some of the funds in my account, of course, we get paid and we spend it,don't we?
Just wanna know if I need to have some money in the account unspent when applying.
Kindly shed light on this, the link isn't comprehensive about this pls.

No money need be in an account so far as the Financial Requirement as per Annex FM is met i.e. your earnings meet the threshold.

Hello Amber,
Sorry to disturb you again, better to ask than make stupid mistake.
I'm in hourly paid employment, I meet the threshold, would that be Cat A?I've been doing the job for 3 years now.
Would I still need to get letter from my employer stating my gross pay, hours, job title and all that?
Just a bit confused with salaried and non salaried aspect.
Thanks for your help.

Yes, Cat A for those employed more than 6 months, for salaried income, your lowest wage slip gross in the last 6 months x 12 must equal or exceed the requirement. For non salaried, gross income in the last 6 months /6 x12 must equal or exceed the requirement, You need to provide all the specified evidence as per Annex FM.

Good morning and sorry to disturb you, just need your help with the financial requirements.
I just realised my February pay slip gross is short of 1550,others are ok till date, what do I do in that scenario? I've been in employment for over 3 years.
That February pay slip just ruined everything!
Pls advise.
Thank you.

Decide whether your earnings are salaried are not. If they are, then simply consider applying under Cat B. The two stage test for Cat B is, 1. your gross pa wage equals or exceeds the threshold and 2. you have actually earned the requirement amount in the last 12 months.

If I get you right,in my case that means I need to go for cat B as my job isn't salaried but hourly job and secondly,I will need to have earned the said amount meaning it would be 12 months pay slips? or showing my P60
Would I need to provide 12 months bank statements of the account too?
We just can't thank you guys enough!

If non salaried, for Cat A, the calculation would be, earnings in the last 6 months / 6 x 12, if that meets or exceeds the requirement, you should be ok.

Yes, for the specified evidence, wage slips must have corresponding bank statements.
