Extension of spouse visa under pre-July 2012 rules

Post by Abelho » Mon Feb 10, 2014 2:50 pm

My husband is on a Spouse Visa which expires on 30th April 2014.

I'm worried in case he doesn't pass Life in the UK test and want to know if there is any possibility to extend his time here. I realise it's hard and also it may be weeks to re-sit.

I want to know our options.

He came here under the old rules and I find the UKBA website tricky to navigate between the two different sets of rules.

We plan to do the application in person so have a bit more time, but I want every possibility covered if we run into trouble with time.

Thank you.

You can extend if necessary on form FLR(M) and then he would be able to apply for ILR once he passes the LIUK and meets the English Language B1 level test.

LIUK is not very hard and fairly easy to pass if you read the book and do the test practice questions available online.
