Hi,
I'd be grateful if anybody can help me? So far nobody could help me find an answer to that.
A bit of a background
My family is asylum seekers in UK, my mother being main applicant. I'm dependant on her case as a family member. We came to UK in august 2007. My mom'a case has been refused couple of times, we had judicial reviews at the high court and now our case is in tribunal. However we've not heard from the home office for 2 years now. Home office tried to separate me from my mom's case as I am now 21 years old. However our solicitor made sure I stayed with my mom.
2.5 years ago I met my boyfriend. He is a British citizen. A year later he proposed to me. We have been putting the wedding off because of my uncertain status in the UK. But we would really like to finally get married as we want to live together and start a family.
So the question is am I allowed to get married to my boyfriend? I went to a couple solicitors and everybody's saying they're not sure as I am not the main applicant on the case. Also if i can get married how would that affect my mother's case? Would I continue to stay with her or will I have to apply for a separate visa?
Thank you very much
